Web version update announcement
Spectre WEB » Devlog

I decided to sit down and make several improvements to the web alpha version that had been online since December 2020. The performance was bad, and there was no way to play it on mobile devices.
Until now.
The touchscreen controls now behave exactly as you'd expect them to in a mobile app, and I made so many improvements to the WebGL code that the frame rate has probably increased 5-10x!
The screen, UI elements, and controls now resize correctly during screen size changes, including changes in device orientation.
The multiplayer lobby code has been fixed, the multiplayer server list has been fixed, and a dedicated server is online again.
Of course, there are still a lot of outstanding issues, including:
- The Host Game screen is too large to be displayed properly on phone screens.
- Text input boxes on the Host Game screen and Options screen don't work without a physical keyboard.
- Bloom/glow doesn't work in portrait mode
- Still many other UI issues to fix
- The touch controls are turned on by default, even in the browser. I'll be adjusting this later.
- Performance in iOS is awful for some reason
- Base Wars is not completely playable
What's to come?
- I may try to implement new multiplayer modes
- Playable Base Wars mode
- New 3D models
- Soundtrack
